2nd Year Coordinator

My name is Viola Westbrook. I am the coordinator of the 2nd year German courses in our department.

At Emory, Intermediate German is as exciting a place to continue German studies as it is a place to begin. Preparing students for the upper level courses, Intermediate German is a two-semester sequence. All sections are closely coordinated to give students choices and accommodate different schedules.

Intermediate German provides a comprehensive overview of grammar that combines easily with reading and discussing modern texts, including a drama. Our focus on writing with its one-on-one tutorial sessions is a favorite aspect of our instruction.

A short on-line placement test – easily accessible from the German Studies Department web page - is required for registration and placement into any Emory German language class.
