German Studies Advisory Council
The Advisory Council functions as ambassadors for our department and encourages the German speaking community at large for donations and support for our students.
The council's main focus is also to create a new forum of interactive, international, and German-related communication for students, faculty and members of the Atlanta community. Under the leadership of Dr. Christoph Rueckel, our newly founded German Studies Advisory Council began its work by adopting its bylaws and planning many activities and events.

Some of the highlights were a presentation in Novermber of 2007 by Karsten Voigt, Coordinator of German American Cooperation with the Federal Government of Germany, who talked about "The German View on the US Presidential Elections 2008". Another well attended event was a visit by Martin Richenhagen, CEO of AGCO Corp. of Duluth, Georgia, who gave a presentation on "Doing Business in the U.S. and in Germany: Cultural Differences, challenges and opportunities"
